As an associate professor of medicine，Zhao Xueqiao is also the director of Coronary Atherosclerosis Research Lab in University of Washington Medical Center, Cardiology Division Seattle, Washington. Dr. Zhao received her medical degree from Beijing Medical University, Beijing, China. Dr. Zhao completed her cardiovascular disease research training at the University of Washington and became a faculty member in 1993. She has been actively involved in clinical and mechanistic research of atherosclerosis in the following four areas: (1) Atherosclerosis Progression, using Coronary Arteriography; (2) Effects of Antithrombotic Therapy on Unstable Angina and Non-Q-MI; (3) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of Carotid Atherosclerotic Plaque Size, Composition, Inflammation and Neovascularization; (4) Multicenter Clinical Trials using Carotid MRI Endpoints. These research programs have been funded by the National Institute of H ealth. |
